Left looking for better headphones but don’t want to shell out $300 plus for them? SRS has brought to market, the iWOW-U with Faceplates, an universal (means works with all device platforms) audio enhancement adapter that includes five color Faceplates.
The iWOW-U, is a universal adapter that securely attaches to the headphone/headset jack of any audio device and delivers HD-quality listening experience for all music, movies, games or other audio tracks. iWOW-U can be used with a wide array of devices (i.e. mobile phones, media tablets, MP3 players and personal computers) and is not dedicated to any specific product line or operating system platform. It connects like a normal headphone or headset jack (3.5mm).
The included Faceplates are great for matching your headphones to the adpater piece to help create the look of one solid product. Inchangeable with one snap, the Faceplates come in black, silver, light blue, red, and pink. The actual adapter is black.
The iWOW-U helps create a natural and immersive HD-quality sound with substantial bass enhancement. It connects easily and securely between any mobile phone, smart phone, media tablet, e-Reader, PC or MP3 player and a pair of headphones or earbuds. I even tried it out with my $300 Monstyer headphones just to see if it can even make those a better audio experience and the answer is “YES”! The adapter dynamically locates and restores audio details buried in source material. When I tried it out while watching the movie, Avatar, you could actually hearing the background sound of the wings during the flight scenes. For music it brings to life the background instruments you may not usually notice in a track.
The adapter is battery free, you just charge with the included Micro USB. It only takes about 90 minutes to charge from completely died and gives you about 5 hours of use of playback on one charge. You can also keep the adapter plugged in and use.
Use advice: When the internal amp turns on, you may or may not hear a “popping” sound through your headphones or speakers. To avoid this, make sure you turn on the iWOW‐U before connecting your headphones or speakers. I had to look on the products website to find out how to get this issue resolved, glad it was a simply action fix. Also the iWOW-U doesn’t work with bluetooth headphones or speakers while in bluetooth mode.
Overall, this is a great audio product. Now listening to music or a movie without the adapter is a flat experience. Even paired with a $20 pair of headphones the sound experience is amazing.
