Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 Designed Just For Fun

Samsung has always pushed there Galaxy Players to be different from the rest, whether is checking email, surfing the web or playing a game. Just like their tablets, Samsung has a wide array of sizes for Galaxy Players with improved size and design of the Galaxy Player 4.2 and decent specs and a simple user interface this device is what Samsung hopes will reach the hands of Android fans needing an iPod replacement.

Design
The design is very sleek. Then the bottom gets the 3.5mm headphone jack and a charging port. The home button which is located on the bottom of the player, the only problem I had with the home button it just doesn’t feel sturdy. You have a beautiful 4.2-inch 480×800 display, a 1.0 GHz single-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. Just like the Galaxy tablet 10.1 2 the 4.2 player speakers are located on the front. The speakers are not strong enough to hear throughout the room but do a decent job.

Hardware
You have a 2 megapixel camera on the rear (no 720p video recording), a front camera, a decent 1,500 mAh battery and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Samsung’s Touch Wiz UX changes to give it that extra polish. Running on a 1.0 GHz single-core processor the device runs well enough. If you play the pre load games (FIFA 12 and Hot pursuit) for 4 hours straight you’ll probably be pushing 5 hours which is good battery life. Listening to music for 3 days straight, gave me half of the battery life without dying.
If you’re a mom and taking the kids on the road the Galaxy player comes with pre-loaded apps such as: Chat on, Social Hub, G Mail, EA Games, FIFA12, Hot Pursuit Angry Birds and Play Store. EA games comes with 4 games such as, Plants vs. Zombies, Need for Speed, Bejeweled 2 and Worms, these games will keep the kids occupied for few hours. The games look amazing on the player was truly impressed with the graphics, The 4.2 screen makes it easier to get into the game.

Conclusion
Galaxy Player 4.2 is an impressive iPod alternative for Android fans, offering many of the same excellent options of its Apple counterpart for accessing its content from other devices. The larger display, compared with the iPod, is also a major plus for playing games and watching videos, Battery life is amazing. For $199 you get a music player, portable gaming, and mini tablet all in one, can’t beat that.
