TapTap says I Love You with a “Remote Hug”

Are you in a long distance relationship and find the Good Morning texts just aren’t enough? Or do you find yourself just needing a hug and your Boo is no where close to give you one? Enter TapTap, a touch communication wristband that is looking to take “Kiss Me Through the Phone” to a whole new level by allowing you to say I Love You with a “remote hug”.

TapTap was created to let your partner feel your touch no matter how far away you are from each other. TapTap bracelets are sold in sets of two and connect only to each other – the way it should be. Cute right? But, how does it work?

TapTap vibrates to let them know you care, but not in the way you might think. Once you set up the bracelet one time you will be able to hit the “TapSpot” (plastic module) and your loved one can feel your touch in the form of a vibration… on their wrist.

The plastic “TapSpot” sits inside a hypoallergenic silicone slap-bracelet which you can swap out for different slap bracelets if you should want to sport a different color. The TapTap app notifies you when your bracelet needs to be recharged. It also lets you send taps directly from your phone. I’m not sure if I find it cool or creepy that the app looks like your Boo touched the screen from the inside.

TapTap, Not Just For Lovers

Not bitten by the love bug? Well it appears that the TapTap device can also be used as an Activity Tracker, Game Controller or Smart Alarm and will also be able to be used with some 3rd party applications such as IFFFT (If This Than That) so it will be cool to see what recipes you can rig your bracelet up to do.

As of right now this nifty little device is looking for funding on Kickstarter and has 10 more days to reach their goal. If their goal is reached it looks like it won’t be ready for the holidays. Currently it’s priced at $130 for a pair and can be shipped separately in individual gift boxes. For more info or to pledge (pre-order) head over to TapTap’s Kickstarter page.
