MOTA Extended Battery Case for iPhone 5 / 5S (Review)

Mota-2 My iPhone is my personal assistant. Like most people, I use it

to check my emails, take phone calls, and text friends and clients.I also use it as a mobile hotspot when I need to access my laptop on the go. It keeps my daily to do list and schedule… among many other things. But with all the usage my phone gets, the battery doesn’t last me all day. Enter MOTA Extended Battery case for iPhone 5/5s.

This case has been my lifesaver for the past few months. I simply charge it up, and once my phone battery gets to about 10%, I turn it on. The case will charge my phone back up to about 90 – 100%.

Pros

I love that this case is not big and bulky. In fact, it’s not much thicker than the case I already had (although it is a big longer.) Additionally, the case is very lightweight. The look and feel of this iPhone case almost makes me forget that it actually charges my phone.

The MOTA Extended Battery Case for iPhone 5/5s comes in four different colors, black, blue, pink, and green. When you purchase the case, you receive your selected color as well as a clear bumper. The bumpers are very easy to change, which is a good thing because you are unable to dock your phone without taking off the entire case.

Cons

There isn’t much I don’t like about this case. As mentioned above, you cannot dock your phone while in the MOTA Extended Battery case. I listen to my iPhone in the car through a dock, so it is a little annoying to have to take the case off to listen to music. Of course if you have a Bluetooth system in your car, it doesn’t matter.

The only other thing I dislike about the case is that it gets a bit hot while it is charging your phone. Not hot enough to burn your hands, but if you’re outside in the summer and on the phone, I can see that phone call not lasting very long.

Specs and Features

Aside from being a good looking, lightweight case that charges your iPhone 5/5s, the MOTA Extended Battery includes a screen protector. Unlike many cases which have a screen protector built in, this is the type that sticks to your phone. I did not put it on my phone as I already have a privacy screen that I love.

If you like watching movies on your iPhone the MOTA Extended Battery Case for iPhone 5/5s also comes with a kickstand in the back. The kickstand comes in handy when you’re on Facetime, reading, or just don’t want to hold your phone.
