New iPhone 6 Features

When talking about camera improvements. They mentioned the “Focus Pixels”  on their rear camera.  Here’s what they mean by that.

Focus Pixels: Focus Pixels are enabled by the new Apple-designed image signal processor. They provide the sensor with more information about your image, giving you better and faster autofocus that you can even see in preview.

The front-facing camera AKA FaceTime HD camera got improvements as well:

“With a larger aperture and all-new sensor technology, the front-facing FaceTime HD camera now captures 81 percent more light. It also has improved face detection. And its new burst mode takes 10 photos per second. So whether you’re trying to snap the perfect selfie or connecting with someone across the country, every image looks just right.”

Apple Pay

NFC was introduced with the new iPhones as a way of secure payments AKA Apple Pay. By combining NFC, Passbook and the Touch ID sensor, you can pay with the touch of a finger. Many major pharmacies and stores are on board so far. From Duane Reade to Whole Foods and Apple promises more to come.

Differences between iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus

Besides the obvious screen size difference, there are very few differences between the iPhone 6 and the iPhone6 Plus. The battery is obviously bigger on the iPhone6 Plus (and it seems that you would get better battery life from the iPhone 6 Plus.). But the main difference between the two is that the iPhone 6 Plus has Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), the iPhone6 doesn’t.

Apple Watch

Apple’s finally into the wearables game. The Apple Watch is available in two sizes (42mm and 38mm). There aren’t many direct specs. So far we know that Apple has kept the traditional watch button (which rotates / scrolls) on the side. It still does have a touch screen and it needs your iPhone to work (not a stand alone product).

There are 3 different models. The Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch Edition collections. These collections are for the different types of users.

Apple Watch Sport Collection

Watch Sport: The Watch Sport collection cases are made from lightweight anodized aluminum in silver and space gray. The display is protected by strengthened Ion-X glass. And the matching fluoroelastomer band comes in five different colors. There are 10 models in this collection.

Apple Watch Edition Watch

Watch Edition: The Edition collection features six uniquely elegant expressions of Apple Watch. Each has a watch case crafted from 18-karat gold that our metallurgists have developed to be up to twice as hard as standard gold. The display is protected by polished sapphire crystal. And an exquisitely designed band provides a striking complement.
