ESL Announces: Who’s Next? Mortal Kombat X Worldwide Competitive Program

Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios announced this morning that they have released their plans for the competitive Mortal Kombat X community. These companies are not doing it alone, but with help of The Electronic Sports League (ESL). This will be the year for Mortal Kombat Pro players. The tournament circuit is called “Who’s Next? Mortal Kombat X Worldwide Competitive Program.” The company is known to hold one of the most over the top tournaments eSports fans have ever seen.

The tournament will consist of two events starting with the Fatal 8 Exhibition Tournament and Mortal Kombat X ESL Pro League Tournament in which players have a chance to win a prize pool that starts at $100,000.

The tournament will be held in the ESL studios in Burbank, California on April 11th. If you are in the area and would like to attend, you can purchase tickets on the Eventbrite site, if you can’t make it you can watch the tournament in full on the NetherRealm Twitch channel. One player from North America and Europe will have the opportunity to compete in a weekly tournament, and will be to win cash prizes and will a player a spot in the grand finals that will be held in Los Angeles, California on July 11th.
