Favorite Features of the Motorola Droid Maxx 2

The Motorola DROID Maxx 2 has a large battery, big display, and can be used with one hand. Is it worth the $400 price tag?

The Motorola Droid Maxx 2 was announced along with its big brother the Droid Turbo 2. The Droid Maxx 2 is the less glamorous version of the 2. What are some of it’s best features? Check out the specs and I’ll tell you what I enjoy about the phone. Here are some of the reasons the Droid Maxx 2 is a great pick on Verizon Wireless

Since I reviewed the Droid Turbo 2, many of the basics are the same when it comes to software, Moto Maker, and Verizon Wireless Service. . The main point of the Droid is the long-lasting battery life. Being the more inexpensive of the 2 Droids of 2015, the Maxx 2 isn’t as powerful as the Droid 2, but it doesn’t lack in the areas most needed. Here are my favorite things of the Droid Maxx 2 and if it’s worth the $400 price tag

Battery Life

  • Well you knew this was coming. With such a large battery in a medium sized phone, you won’t have to worry about the Maxx 2 dying on you. The full HD display helps with not draining the battery out. While the battery never lasted me 48 hours (as Verizon advertises), it has lasted me over 24 hours. Meaning that I was able to use the Maxx 2 with ease throughout the entire day without a worry. That is not something I can say for most phones. I know things like having the screen at medium display and features like Motorola Assist help me get the most out of my battery life. Battery life will of course vary with everyone but I am confident you will have a great use with the Maxx 2

Build Quality and Customization

  • The Droid Maxx 2 has a nice solid build. I love that even though you can’t customize it on Moto Maker, you can change the backs by buying Motorola Shells (covers available in 7 different colors). Along with the quality build, the Droid Maxx 2 has water repellant coating. Little splashes or drizzling won’t stop your phone from working. Even though the display is 5.5 inches, ou can easily use it with one hand.

Motorola Assist

  • Every time I use Motorola Assist I get so used to it, I miss it when I review other devices. Moto Display is still one of my favorite features and like I said earlier, I know it helps out with my battery life. For those who are usually driving, Moto Assist knows when you’re in the car and will help keep you in the loop without you having to touch your phone. And if you’re a mobile shutterbug, you know that getting to the camera quickly is important. The twist of the wrist maneuver never gets old. Do it as you’re pulling the camera up to your face, and you’re ready to click.

These are great features to get in the price range of $400. Honorable mentions include a 21 megapixel camera that does a great job of shooting quickly without blur. As usual you can expect deals every now and then that might make it even cheaper to purchase.
