I love being wireless. I use wireless headphones when on-the-go or at the gym. I enjoy being wireless at home too. Using wireless speakers is great, but what about those older generation speakers that were made before wifi pairing was a thing? For a while I gave up those older generation speakers and mostly streamed music via Bluetooth. Lately I have been using the Chromecast Audio a bit more. Control:
You can control the music from your phone, no matter where you are in the house. For this to work you need the Google Home app (this is the app that connects the Chromecast), and your phone / tablet to be connected to the same wifi network. Anyone who is connected to the wifi network can also stream music. Even though you’re using your phone to control the music, it won’t get in the way of your chatting and social media.
Variety:
You don’t have to just play the music library on your phone. You can go the streaming route. Stream music and podcasts from apps like YouTube Music, Pandora, Spotify, and Google Play Music. You can find more apps at chromecast.com/apps
Multi-room Sound:
Not only does wifi streaming sound better than bluetooth streaming (yoiu can stream crystal clear hi-res sound), you can group more than one Chromecast Audio device to stream onto multiple speakers. They don’t have to be the same speaker. Just put all of the Chromecast Audio dongles on the same network.
Chromecast Audio is small and also affordable. Giving you variety of music and control options, the it makes a great gift as well. It works with nearly every speaker.
