After a few months with the Samsung Galaxy S8, here’s why I think it’s still one of the best phones, if not the best phone of 2017. With flagship specs, a great screen and affordable pricing, the Galaxy S8 checks off all of the boxes. Yes, it still has a headphone jack. Review the specs below (alongside the specs of big brother, Galaxy S8+) and get a run down of the great features the Galaxy S8 has.

Great Screen for size:
Even though the Galaxy S8 has a huge 5.8 inch screen, it doesn’t feel like it. The screen resolution doesn’t come up short either. The screen is gorgeous since it’s nearly bezeless. Samsung got rid of the physical home button. Along with the taller and more narrow build, it’s not too hard to use it one-handed. The phone can fit your entertainment needs without completely overpowering your hand. If the S8 screen is on the small side for you, you can go for the Galaxy S8+ and have all of the same features with a larger screen size
Ports and Connectivity:
The Galaxy S8 still has the headphone jack if you have some wired cans to jam out with. Even if you don’t have headphones, the Galaxy S8 comes with earbuds that are tuned by AKG. Not bad at all. But it can go wireless also, wireless charging that is. The Galaxy S8 has fast wired and wireless charging. No need to plug in while working at your desk. And when you go to bed at night, just prop the Galaxy S8 on the wireless charging pad and you’re good to go.
Performance and Features:
When it comes to performance, the Galaxy S8 has a Snapdragon 835 processor and 4GB RAM that handles daily multitasking rather well. You get some cute features with Android running Samsung’s OS. You have the edge screen on the side (you can pick which side you want), and the very informative and customizable notification bar.
Camera:
Probably one of the reasons to get this phone alone. You can take a look at the slide show and see some great pictures. The Galaxy S8 does a great job with auto settings. You won’t be disappointed. Fingerprint Scanner:
It’s not my favorite feature on the Galaxy S8 It works really well when u can find it. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the back, next to the camera. It’s flushed and so high up.
Accessories:
The Galaxy S8 can be used with a few things. You can use Gear VR which might be offered with the purchase of the phone. You can also use Samsung DeX which allows you to dock your phone and use it in desktop mode. While not necessarily and accessory, with the Samsung Flow app you can get messages and calls on your computer.
Samsung offers an unlocked version if you feel more comfortable going that route, or you can probably get a deal at all of the major carriers. There are offers for trade-ins and BOGO. Check out Samsung’s website for more. Based on the lower price tag, the flagship features, and luxurious build, the Galaxy S8 ranks Top 5 phones of 2017 easily. If you want to get a bigger screen size go for the Galaxy S8+, but if you want bigger screen, better camera and a few more features with the Samsung vibe, go for the Galaxy Note8.
