Check it Out: 3 Festivals To Attend in New York

Summer in New York is full of events. I attended the Panorama NYC music festival a couple of weeks ago which was dope. There are three more events coming up between now and September. These fit different types of moods from light chill vibes to jammin’ out quietly, to tasting food and beer.

Secret Summer NYC

Secret Summer is a few days ago and there are still tickets on sale. I’ve attended Secret Summer every year since its launch. It’s a chill, chic ambiance in an industrial, green setting. Located in Long Island City, New York, The Foundry (42-38 9th St, LIC, NY)is beautiful and has a great setup for different experiences, such as beer cocktails and food from different restaurants. It’s on Sunday, August 12th from 2pm – 8pm.

The Lucky Chops – Secret Summer NYC

Vibrant seasonal sippers are prepared with only raw, peak-season ingredients sourced from local farms and paired with the best quality spirit brands on the market. The 4th annual fete will feature Suntory Whisky Toki™ in the greenhouse, a Brugal 1888 rum tasting experience, a Brockmans Gin Juniper Forest, a Blue Point Brewery Toasted Yacht where guests are invited to sip on Blue Point Beer cocktails from a boat as well as Hangar 1 Vodka that will have a Hanging Herb Wall and more. Areppas, San Matteo, The Choripan, Sophie’s Cuban, Bar Gonzo, and Wisefish Poke will be on hand to satisfy everyone’s appetites. And, Man v. Food host Casey Webb will be on hand to judge the best cocktail at this year’s event.  For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.secretsummernyc.com.

Quiet Club Events – Coney Island, New York

If music is more of your scene, you would enjoy Quiet Club events. At Quiet Club events, DJs play music into headphones as opposed to speakers. Each DJ plays a different genre and you can switch between them by switching a button on the headphones. This time, Quiet Clubbing Festival is coming back to Coney Island and taking place at the Coney Art Walls (3050 Stillwell Ave, Brooklyn) on Saturday, September 15th from 7pm-Midnight (doors open at 6:30 pm, music begins at sunset). Six live DJ’s will battle for your attention until late night with LED Robots, LED Hula Dancers, Fire Twirlers, face painting, glow in the dark gear and a few more surprises we’re keeping Quiet about. Each headset has a color LED that shows what channel you are listening to. It’s super social; you’re in control of the music. There’s no loud music that you have to talk over. Plus, there’s no ringing in your ears when you leave.

Quiet Events Party

When you arrive you’ll receive the pair of special wireless headphones. You can adjust the volume and choose between up to three DJ’s with a flip of a switch.  General admission begins at $20 and can be purchased by visiting. Quiet Clubbing Events

When and Where: Saturday, September 15th from 7pm – Midnight. Coney Art Walls 3050 Stillwell Ave, Brooklyn, NY. Quiet Clubbing Events

Bacon and Beer Classic

This event seems fun! I always say, there’s more to New York than Manhattan and Brooklyn. Cannonball Productions is bringing its highly acclaimed, nationally-touring Bacon and Beer Classic back to the Big Apple on Saturday, September 29th when it heads to the USTA National Tennis Center in Queens, NY. Play giant Jenga, bob for bacon, and pose with friends on the court, all while indulging in unlimited suds and grub. Let loose and dance to live music, party in a biergarten during Oktoberfest, and compete in the Hormel® bacon eating contest for the chance to win a year of free Black Label® bacon.

NYC restaurants including Clinton Hall, American Cut and BarBacon will serve up their most original bacon dishes. Choose from three ticket types: General Admission, Power Hour, or VIP. General Admission tickets begin at $69 and span to $135 for the Afternoon VIP session.

When and Where: Saturday, September 29th. There will be two sessions, afternoon from 1pm – 4pm and evening from 7pm – 10pm. VIP and Power Hour ticket holders will get to enter the USTA National Tennis Center an hour early through an expedited line.
