I’ve had a pair of AirPods Max over-ear headphones for a few years. They are great to watch movies on the plane with, especially with Spatial audio. As Apple started USB-c-ing all the things, I was hoping (along with many others) they would update the AirPods Max with USB, among other things. At the keynote, they did not update the chip on the AirPod Max headphones, but they did update the charging port from lightning to usb-c, and they added new colors to the lineup.

Additionally, AirPods Max now feature USB-C charging capabilities, making it more convenient than ever to charge them at home or on the go.
Customers can now pre-order AirPods Max with USB-C charging for $549 (U.S.) from apple.com/store and the Apple Store app in the U.S. and more than 60 other countries and regions. They will be available beginning Friday, September 20.
