Being in the tech world means being constantly introduced to new avenues of technology. While we mostly cover lifestyle tech here, we occasionally cover concerts or music events. But that’s usually as far as it goes when it comes to music production.
Recently, we learned about Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software. We’ve seen it but never really messed with it since we’re not producers or musical engineers. As expected, technology is involved in streamlining the mixing process for producers. AI elements are used in Studio One Pro 7 to make mixing and production simpler and more seamless. Elements like virtual instruments and an integrated launcher make this a one-stop shop for mixing needs.

We attended the keynote of the PreSonus Studio One Pro software, where we learned how they used AI to streamline “stem separation,” which allows users to isolate elements from the audio. It was pretty amazing to witness in real-time.
PreSonus has joined forces with the Splice program, where you can get royalty-free samples, so users can get sounds directly into the browser. Splice uses AI to search for compatible sounds. In seconds, you can find a sound that matches your beat from thousands of available sounds. And it mixes it flawlessly.

Having a nearly all-in-one studio, DJ Jazzy Jeff talked about the difference in mixing now versus when he first started. All of the options are available as part of one program, with the implementation of AI, separate elements when needed, and search for just the right sounds to complement the beats with “Search with Sound.”
