iOS 26 Brings Heart Rate Tracking Improvements and More Updates to the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 Fitness Earbuds

Earlier this year, Beats released their Powerbeats Pro 2 workout earbuds. We enjoyed the upgrade when we reviewed them. Next week when iOS 26 software comes out for iPhones, those who have the Powerbeats Pro 2 will get a few updates when it comes to heart rate monitoring.

While iOS 26 Beta versions are out, the official iOS 26 update will be out on September 15th. The Powerbeats Pro 2 will integrate with the Apple Fitness app for access to data. On the Apple Fitness+ app, you will be able to see the data such as calories and heart-rate in real time.

  • Users can utilize Powerbeats Pro 2 to measure heart rate and calories burned with incredibly accurate data for up to 50 different workout types in the Fitness app on iPhone.
  • Powerbeats Pro 2 counts steps taken for an improved experience when iPhone is not on-user.
  • Apple Fitness+ users with Powerbeats Pro 2 can now view real-time performance metrics directly onscreen, such as heart rate, calories burned, and the Burn Bar.
  • Users can now use a single-bud for heart rate monitoring during workouts.

  • With Siri Interactions, nod your head yes or gently shake your head no when Siri asks if you want to answer an incoming call, hear a text message, manage notifications, and more.
  • Apple Watch and Powerbeats Pro 2 now work even better together by providing users with multiple streams of heart rate data for even better coverage when using both devices.
  • A new algorithm enables improved performance with a faster heart rate reading.
  • Users may receive a notification to help guide to a better fit to improve heart rate reading.
