MLB Returns to Apple TV With “Friday Night Baseball”

As a baseball fan, I am thrilled to learn that “Friday Night Baseball” is back on Apple TV for its fifth season. It’s a sport I follow, and having more options to watch free games is always great. Read below to see how to watch Friday games on Apple TV and see the schedule for the first half of the 2026 MLB season.

So what is Friday Night Baseball on Apple TV?

“Friday Night Baseball” is an Apple TV programming where fans can watch two marquee matchups each week throughout the regular 25-week MLB season. It starts on Friday, March 27.

Apple and MLB today revealed the “Friday Night Baseball” schedule for the first half of the season, with games running through June 26. Highlights include the storied New York Subway Series matchup between the Yankees and Mets, plus multiple appearances by reigning National League MVP Shohei Ohtani and the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers, including a classic matchup against the Cubs at Dodger Stadium, a showdown with the Philadelphia Phillies, and a heated NL West rivalry game against the San Diego Padres. Last season, Apple introduced the iPhone 17 Pro into the production workflow of “Friday Night Baseball”. That was the first time an iPhone has been integrated into a live professional sports broadcast as a primary camera. Apple says the iPhone will be integrated into the camera lineup for some games for the 2026 season. Looking forward to seeing how that content plays out.
