The holidays are approaching and you know what that means..Black Friday sales along with Cyber Mondays. Tablets have dominated the gadget world this year it seem like every month two new tablets where coming out it became hard to keep up. I’m going to start with the top 5 windows 8 tablets.
Asus VivoTab RT
Asus has significant experience with tablet/laptop hybrids thanks to its Android-based Transformer line. The device’s 10.1-inch scree-inch, 1,366×768 display is a Super IPS+ panel, and the system supports a Wacom stylus for note-taking and drawing along with 1.3 GHz Quad-Core Tegra 3. There’s also an 8-megapixel camera in the tablet packaging, which is just 8.3mm thick, and weighs a skinch under 1.5 pounds. The optional dock adds a keyboard, with extra battery life and USB ports.7-8. That includes a lot of web browsing, some Netflix watching, some email and messaging.
Samsung Smart PC
Samsung’s Smart PC, also known as the Series 5 Slate, features an 11.6-inch, 1,366×768 display and directly connects to a stylish keyboard dock for a complete clamshell experience. All the ATIV Smart PCs support touch and Wacom stylus.
The dock does not contain an extra battery as the others do. The keyboard dock adds a further two USB 2.0 ports (the data interconnect between tablet and keyboard can’t cope with USB 3.0). Wireless thanks to Wi-Fi N, Bluetooth 4.0 and 3G/4G wireless broadband with accompanying SIM slot.
The display integrates a Wacom digitizer and full S Pen support (the same technology used in Galaxy Note smartphones). In laptop mode, the system weighs 3.26 pounds. The tablet alone weight 1.65 pounds. Samsung includes both front-facing (2 megapixel) and rear-facing (8 megapixel) cameras for easy video conferencing. Just like a Samsung Ultrabook, the Series 5 is a smart, posh-looking affair (Samsung calls the color styling “mystic blue”).
Microsoft Surface RT
Surface with Windows RT has a widescreen HD display that provides a larger view of your TV shows and movies. It feels great in your hands and when you want to put it down, Surface’s integrated kickstand is there when you need it, and disappears and doesn’t get in the way when you don’t.
When you want to get something done, simply click in either Touch Cover—a unique and innovative pressure-sensitive keyboard that’s 3mm thin and doubles as a cover that protects your screen, and is available in a variety of colors so people can express their personal style choose from white, black, magenta, cyan and red (my favorite color)— or Type Cover choose which adds moving keys for a more traditional typing feel that’s only 2mm more. Surface also comes with a full-size USB, enabling connectivity with literally hundreds of millions of devices, as well as a microSD card slot for adding almost limitless storage.
Acer Iconia W7
The Acer Iconia W7 comes with an Intel Core processor supported by 4GB of ram. You get a crisp and easy to see on the Full HD display, and a 178-degree wide viewing angle, has a 11.6-inch screen size and screen resolution size of 1920×1080 full HD. Just snap it into its cradle and choose the best perspective: portrait for viewing pictures or reading; landscape at 20 degrees for comfortable touch control; or landscape at 70 degrees for notebook-style viewing and keyboard1 productivity. HDMI and USB 3.0 ports1 add even more flexibility up to 8 hours of battery life.
Lenovo ThinkPad 2
Lenovo’s Thinkpad 2 a 10.1-inch form factor. Yes, you can purchase a dock that integrates a classic Lenovo keyboard, but it’s a Bluetooth dock without a physical connector that would turn the system into a traditional clamshell.
The ThinkPad 2 integrates a Wacom digitizer in its 1366×768 display, and includes a stylus making it a great tool for artists. A USB port is included for external device connectivity. Other features include optional 3G/4G connectivity, and a pair of cameras (2-megapixel front and 8-megapixel rear). Up to 10 hours of battery life is, which could make it an attractive option for business users who require Windows on the move. The tablet is 9.8mm thick, but weighs under 1.5 pounds. In addition, the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 ships with a full version of Office 2013.
