Logitech’s G303 Daedalus Apex Performance Edition Gaming Mouse [Review]

When it comes to shopping for the latest and greatest in PC accessories finding the best fit can become expensive, and time consuming, and not every mouse fits comfortable in a players hands. Comfort is not the only thing consumers look for, design and being able to customize the device the way they want is a big part.

Trying to find a gaming mouse that can be used on all types of games, not just one is a big factor as well. I’m a big PC gamer, and I have gone through my share of gaming mice and trying to find one that is comfortable has become a chore. After playing a few hours with a mouse my hands would become so tense that during matches I would have to take my hands off the mouse and stretch them, making it so uncomfortable that I would stop playing.

Logitech, one of the leading companies when it comes top of the line PC gaming accessories decided to take feedback from consumers and pro gamers in order to give everyone one of the best gaming mice on the market, but with so many different games and preferences can the company give players what they’ve been asking for? Logitech launched the G303 Daedalus Apex Performance Edition Gaming Mouse and I had the opportunity to take the G303 on a test run.

When it comes to buying any type of gaming accessory, we do look for specs to see how well the mouse will do, but the first thing we actually look for is the design. Within minutes a consumer will know if they are willing to do research on the product just from its design, some like the flashing lights, some like the big mouse with tons of button, and then you have some that just like the simple look. The G303 fits right in the middle with its sleek body making it extremely comfortable to grip for hours.

You have two small metal spring buttons on the left side of the mouse, in the middle you have the track wheel and other small button behind it. The buttons are positioned perfectly, I don’t have to move my figures off the mouse which gave me an insane response time. No need to worry about wires getting tangled, the G303 comes with a wired line which means you will never have to take time out of your gaming sessions to untangle.

Let’s face it, not everyone plays the same, or has the same set-up as the next person which is why customization is such a big factor when purchasing any PC accessory, and the G303 offers just that. First, you can customize up to 16.8 million color palette, use “breathing” light patterns or you can set your lighting to sleep when not in use. Color patterns will show on the sides of the mouse as well as the Logitech G logo on the top of the mouse.

Colors are not the only feature you can customize. There are 6 buttons that you can program how you want, set one up to make for an easy way to communicate between you and your teammates, or if you don’t feel the need to make changes to the mouse, you don’t have to. You can use it right out of the box. In order to make these changes you must download the Logitech Gaming Software, you can save your customized settings, so if you’re traveling you’ll have them with you.

Being able to modify is great, but what about performance? The G303 Daedalus Apex tracking is on point, with the company offering its best optical sensor, the PMW3366 which is built with Delta Zero technology for speed and accuracy. It also makes tracking on point and I had no problem targeting my enemies, the mouse didn’t go crazy which has happened to me before. I would have to be very careful in the way I would move the mouse, if I moved it too much the cursor went crazy and would cost me the win. Not the case with the G303, because of the new technology I can move the curser at any speed and still hit my target.

In order to get the most out of your response time, the G303 has a PMW3366 sensor zero which allows for smoothing or filtering across the entire DPI range, which is perfect because it works at high sensitivity. You can switch through up to five DPI settings, from pixel-precise targeting, 200 DPI, up to 12,000 DPI, in 50 DPI increments with zero pixel rounding. These impressive numbers give players the speed and accuracy you see Pro Players using during their games. The sensor can also be changed to the setting you feel comfortable with, again you must download the Logitech Gaming Software in order to do so.

Players wanted a mouse that could adapt to any environment, let’s face it we could be on the road and we’ve packed everything, but a mouse pad. You can fix that problem by changing your optical sensor, after that you will be able to have the same speed and accuracy as if you were playing on your favorite mouse pad.

If you’ve been shopping around for new accessories, you know just how expensive it is. Some start as little as fifty dollars going up to about four hundred or more, and you know that saying “You get what you paid for” has consumers feeling they need to splurge on those high end products in order to play like the pro’s, but that’s not the case with the G303. With the G303 priced at $69.99 some may think it won’t live up to the hype, but it does, I myself was shocked a gaming mouse that performs so well, with amazing accuracy couldn’t have such a low price point. In this case the term “You get what you paid for” doesn’t apply to the G303.

Logitech took feedback from its consumers and they listened. The G303 Daedalus Apex Performance Gaming Mouse meets every gamers exaptation, with its sleek deigns allowing it to be a perfect for anyone’s hands. Getting to customize your mouse to the exact format that you want, gives players a feel that the G303 was made just for them, with the light weight, but durably body, it’s perfect to take on the go. During my long gaming sessions I had no tension in my hands and felt extremely comfortable after six hours of non-stop clicking. So whether you play Shooters, MOBA or RPG the G303 Daedalus Apex Performance is perfect for you.
