The regular Moto Razr was announced alongside the Moto Razr+ and Moto Razr Ultra. Being the lower tier of the three Razr phones, means a lower a price but what compromises does that entail? We spent a few weeks with the razr 2025 to see.

DESIGN AND BUILD
It’s the design you know for a clamshell foldable. Outside is the 3.6-inch 90Hz outer display. The main two-camera setup can be found on the bottom right corner of the outer display. The back is a beautiful “Spring Bud” green. The aluminum frame makes for a decent build. The power and volume buttons are on the right border of the phone. When folded, they would be on the top part of the clamshell.
Motorola made this phone series fun. The colors you can get it in are great, from a bold white, to a sweet pink color, to the green on the model I am reviewing, I love that Motorola didn’t hold back to the generic silver and black colors.

When unfolding the Razr 2025, you have a 6.9-inch AMOLED display, with a 120Hz refresh rate. You barely see the crease, which is always a plus. The hinge doesn’t feel flimsy at all. Build is impressive for the pricing.

DAY TO DAY EXPERIENCE
Getting used to clamshell foldables, the Razr 2025 is a similar experience. The outer display is bright but sometimes not bright enough for those extremely hot summer days. It goes up to 1,700 nits at its brightest. The titanium hinge gives confidence in the constant folding and unfolding of the phone. It’s definitely a conversation piece due to the bright color and the outer display.

This isn’t your typical power user device. You wouldn’t be doing the most for with this phone. It’s great for your basic texting, emailing and social media scrolling. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400x chip, the razr handled pretty much anything I threw at it. Sometimes it was laggy to switch between apps but nothing too frustrating. When it comes to mobile gaming, I did my basic gaming like Sudoku and it handle it just fine.
Like with many of today’s smartphones, you can get AI on the Razr 2025. There’s no AI button like on the Moto Razr Ultra though. You have the “Pay Attention”, “Remember This” and “Catch Me Up” options.
CAMERAS ON THE MOTO RAZR 2025
I didn’t expect too much when it came to the cameras on the Razr 2025. While I was satisfied with the cameras on the Moto Razr Ultra, I knew not to expect too much when it came to the cameras on the basic Razr. On the outer display you have the main camera setup which consists of the 50-megapixel with OIS and the 13-megapixel ultra-wide cameras.

You get basic pictures that aren’t horrible but also not great. As with most cameras, bright lighting helps capture vibrant shots. You will struggle in low-light situations. Some pictures lose a lot of detail
BATTERY LIFE ON THE MOTO RAZR 2025
The Razr 2025 has a 4,500 mAh battery. Lasted nearly all day for me. Some days I had 5 or 6 hours of screen on time and consistently ended with enough to end the day with 5 or 10% left. Pretty impressive and it’s one of this phones’ best features.
When it comes to charging, you can charge wired at 30W or wirelessly at 15W. You can charge pretty quickly wired. I had the phone fully charged from zero to 100% in a little over an hour.

VERDICT
The Moto Razr 2025 is a great clamshell foldable for $699. The best features are the usability of the outer display and the great battery life. The cameras are not my favorite and you’ll need decent lighting to make the pictures work. Performance is great as long as you don’t push it. You can use this phone for basic needs and of course portability. It fits nearly everywhere and you can do most of the tasks while it remains closed.
At this price, the moto Razr 2025 is great for anyone who wants to try the fashionable, modern clamshell without the hefty price tag.
