Apple just announced the Apple TV 4K, and it is receiving some massive upgrades, along with a refreshed Siri Remote and a full living room push into Apple Intelligence, with Siri AI.
WHAT’S NEW ON APPLE TV 4K: KEY FEATURES
- Siri AI Takes Center Stage: Apple TV 4K is getting supercharged by Apple Intelligence. Siri AI transforms how you discover entertainment with a full-screen, conversational interface. You can ask complex questions like which shows won Emmys or request recommendations Alinda sent you over Messages. It also provides subtle, glanceable pop-ups mid-show for trivia or age appropriateness without pulling you out of your movie.
- Hands-Free Control with Far-Field Mics: You do not even have to pick up the remote anymore. Apple built in three far-field microphones right into the box with advanced echo cancellation, so you can call out “Hey Siri” or “Siri” across the room even while loud movies or music are blasting.
- 4-Speaker Surround Sound Setup: For home theater fans, this is a major audio milestone. Apple TV 4K now allows you to pair up to four HomePod speakers (either four HomePod mini 2 units or two pairs of HomePod 2nd gen) for a true surround sound layout that automatically calibrates audio timing and levels to your room.
- Upgraded Siri Remote with Precision Finding: The remote keeps its sleek form factor but finally adds Find My with Precision Finding and an onboard speaker. When it slips deep between the sofa cushions, your iPhone can guide you right to it.
- Enhanced Smart Home Hub: Local processing handles HomeKit Secure Video, now supercharged by Apple Intelligence to write smart video descriptions and summarize notifications when packages or visitors arrive.

APPLE TV 4K PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

At $299, Apple has significantly shifted the positioning of the Apple TV 4K. For context, the previous generation started at just $129 for the Wi-Fi model and $149 for the Ethernet configuration. Jumping to nearly $300 pushes this streaming box past casual plug-and-play territory and plants it firmly into premium home theater computing hardware.
Apple clearly justifies the leap with the updated features: packed with the A19 chip, on-device Apple Intelligence processing, three far-field microphones, and a full UWB-enabled Siri Remote. While existing streaming boxes compete with $50 dongles, Apple is positioning the 2026 Apple TV 4K as an AI-driven living room brain and audio command center. We’ll see if everyday viewers are ready to shell out that price to get hands-free Siri and smarter recommendations.
