MAINGEAR is best known for their gaming laptops and towers, but now the company seems to be focusing more on their new Steam Machine. The company has announced the availability of the DRIFT, the SteamOS powered gaming PC that is designed to bring 4K gaming to any setting including the living room.
The DRIFT brings the 4k gaming performance you get from a full game tower to a smaller size designed to fit in tight spaces. The system doesn’t look like a traditional tower and gamers may feel as if the system won’t come close to a traditional gaming tower when it comes to specs, but that’s not true. The DRIFT can be customized with overclocked Intel’s Extreme Edition Haswell-E or Skylake processors, full-sized NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980Ti or Titan X GPUs, and up to 16GBs of Kingston DDR4 memory. In addition, the DRIFT comes with 3 hard drive bays that can be outfitted with 2 Samsung 850 Pro SSDs, 120 liquid cooling system that ensures a whisper-quiet operation during regular activity and a 6TB HDD.
“The DRIFT packs the muscle and performance of larger systems into a sleek and compact uni-body design that fits anywhere,” says Wallace Santos, CEO and Founder of MAINGEAR. “The SteamOS has finally arrived and we are delighted to partner with Valve to make the DRIFT the perfect way to deliver the Steam experience.”
Consumers will also get a Valve Steam Controller that has dual track pads, HD haptics, dual-stage triggers, and a fully customizable control schemes.
MAINGEAR’s DRIFT is now ready for customization with MAINGEAR’s true automotive paint finish available in any color and combination starting at $1,099
