Motorola Razr Ultra is Official and It’s Feature Packed [Hands-On Preview]

We didn’t expect Motorola to release three clamshell phones at their launch event. There is a Motorola Razr, Motorola Razr+, and Motorola Razr Ultra. They have larger, brighter screens, strong titanium-enforced hinges and updated cameras.

Motorola Razr Ultra

Motorola Razr Ultra is official and it has tons of features. While it’s a bit pricey at $1,299 if you’re into clamshell phones, it may be worth it. The external display is 4 inches, while the main AMOLED display is 7 inch (when unfolded).

As for power, it has 16GB RAM and it’s powered by te the Sanpdragon 8 Elite chip. There’s tons of storage with 512GB. Of course AI is part of the features list with trials of Perplexity and Gemini Advanced. The Motorola Razr Ultra even has a dedicated AI button. It’s an easy way to tell the difference between the Razr Ultra and the Razr+ when it comes to the physical build. The battery is a decent size at 4,700 mAh. When it comes to charging; it comes at 68W wired and 30W wireless charging. The chargers are not provided in the box.

Motorola brought back the Ultrawide lens to the Razr Ultra camera setup. All three cameras, main, ultrawide and selfie cameras are 50 MP on the Razr Ultra. It comes in four fun colors. Pantone Rio Red, Pantone Cabaret, Pantone Scarab, and Pantone Mountain Trail. Teh Mountail Trail is fun “wood” color and the Pantone Scarab is an Alcantara material which felt pretty nice.

Motorola Razr

The basic Razr has a smaller external display at 3.6-inches and 6.9-inch internal display. It’s powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7400X chip and a 4,500 mAh battery. At $699, it’s pretty affordable for a foldable phone. The main camera is 50 MP alongside a 13 MP ultrawide lens.

Motorola Razr+

While it’s the middle of the 3 phone lineup, the Razr+ is very similar to the Motorola Razr+ 2024. There are a couple of minor updates to make it 2025 ready. It’s still running Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. There’s no ultrawide camera here. Both the main and telephoto lenses are 50 MP. The selfie camera is 32 MP. The 4,000 mAh battery charges at up 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The Motorola Razr+ goes for $999.
