A few months ago, I received the Logi Mobi Fold travel mouse. I am not a fan of using the trackpad on a laptop. I always bring a mouse with me, which isn’t always the most travel-friendly item to pack. So when I had a chance to try out a portable, foldable mouse, I was open to it. After a few trips with the Logi Mobi Fold mouse, I have thoughts.
The Logi Mobi Fold Mouse Design and Build
This thing is really small and lightweight. Most “compact” mice flatten slightly, but the Mobi Fold genuinely shrinks. When folded, it measures just 0.83 inches thick and cuts its footprint down to 2.6 inches. It weighs under 3 ounces too. When unfolded, the Mobi Fold measures 4.8 inches long with a subtle arch. When unfolded, it keeps the arch. So it doesn’t take up too much space in my travel tech bag.
Setting up the Mobi Fold is pretty much pair-and-play. It can pair up to three devices easily. There are no dongles, just Bluetooth pairing. You press the little button on the bottom to pair. If you want to get more use out of it, you can always use the Logi Options+ software to customize its uses.
The primary clicks are nearly silent, which is a massive plus when working in airport lounges, quiet libraries, or during shared meetings. Instead of a physical mechanical scroll wheel, Logitech implemented an Adaptive Touch Scrolling strip down the middle. It responds quickly to flick gestures and precise line-by-line navigation, though without the tactile notch feedback of a traditional wheel, it does take an afternoon or two of muscle memory to master. Scrolling wasn’t always precise for me and that got a bit frustrating. A scroll wheel is just better. The arch is nice, but it’s not as comfortable as a vertical mouse.
The Logi Mobi Folding Factor:
The standout party trick of the Mobi Fold is its flexible center hinge. The Mobi Fold features accordion-like ridges down its spine that let you physically fold the mouse in half. A built-in magnet snaps the two ends together with a crisp, satisfying clap.
What makes the design great is that Logitech tied the hinge to power management. There’s no tiny switch on the bottom to remember: unfolding it turns it on, and folding it shut turns it off. It eliminates accidental clicks and battery drain while rattling around inside my travel tote bag. That’s key!
Either way, it has a long battery life. On a full charge, it delivers up to 30 to 32 days of regular use. A quick charge: A quick 1-minute USB-C top-up nets around 22 hours of uptime, a lifesaver when you notice a low battery right before a presentation. The USB-C port is tucked near the back, and you can still use the mouse while plugged in if needed.
