I didn’t grow up playing in my mothers makeup or trying on her heels to walk around in. I grew up taking apart all the gadgets in the house and learning how to put them back together. Had this been around when I was growing up instead of believing I was a Princess that could grow up and live in a castle – I would have grown up believing I could also build it myself! Now I’m in no way saying anything is wrong with playing dress up or even Barbie, however I think giving our Princesses the knowledge and skill to seek out other skills is very commendable and needed.
