Don't know what to get dad or grad on their special day? Here are some of the latest gadgets to choose from
I am back with another round-up of great gifts for the next holiday. This is for dads and grads. Father’s Day may be around the corner, and we have graduates who graduate up till late June (sometimes August). After some hands on time with certain products here’s what I think is suitable for gifts. You can find these at your local store or order them online.
HTC One M9 (Android Smartphone)
You can’t deny the solid build of the One M9. If you want a great all-around phone that isn’t too large and has great front-facing sounding speakers (thanks to its signature BoomSound feature with Dolby Audio), the M9 makes a great gift. Not only do you get a fun phone, it comes with uh-oh protection for the first 12 months that covers cracked screen, water damage, or even if you need a new One M9 to switch carriers. Available in 2 colors and on all major US carriers.
The unlocked dual-SIM Android smartphone is definitely a bang for your buck. Starting at $199 you get a nice 5.5 inch screen, 13 mp rear camera, 5 mp selfie cam, quad-core processor, and 16gb of storage (64 GB if you go up to $299). All the basics for a great phone.
If the dad or grad on your list enjoys a phone with a removable battery, external storage and an amazing camera (in both manual and auto mode, the LG G4 might be the suitable gift. Add on the different color leather backs, and you have a nice premium phone with a decent processor and crisp screen.
A great case to pair with the HTC One M9, the Dot View case gives you the time and weather in a quick glance. It also gives you notifications letting you know if you have new emails, texts, missed calls. All without flipping the cover. Available in different colors.
If you’ve been waiting for Samsung to change the design of their Galaxy line, then your giftee will enjoy the S6. With an all new metal and glass design the Galaxy S6 has a pretty exterior with some nice internals as well. The camera takes great snapshots, and the fingerprint scanner works almost flawlessly. There’s a lot to love about the S6. It also pairs well with the next gift on our list.
One of the best features of the Galaxy S6 is the wireless charging. Just drop your phone and get your charge on. The wireless charging pad from Samsung gets the job done without taking too much space. The built-in LED indicator light will alert you if the device is not properly aligned and when a good charge alignment is acquired to get the most out of your charging session. Available in black or white.
If your dad / grad has a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, they will enjoy the Gear S smartwatch. Taking smartwatches to the next level, the Gear S allows you to make connected calls when your phone isn’t nearby. Use the Nike+ Running app, alongside the built-in GPS from your phone to make your a running watch for fitness. Great gift for the dad/grad who wants the next awesome gadget. Prices vary by carrier.
If the dad/ grad on your list wants an in-depth activity tracker but doesn’t want a smartwatch, look into the Basis Peak activity tracker. Not only does the water-resistant Basis Peak track activity and exercise, it tracks sleep and heart-rate. It takes in your daily activity overall to give you an in-depth look of your habits, and help you understand what you need to do to reach your goals. It also gives you notifications of texts, calls, and emails.
The bands are interchangeable and the plates are available in 2 colors.
The Talkband B2 from Huawei is a tracker that does it all. It tracks activity, syncs via an app. Thanks to its innovative 6-axis motion sensor, TalkBand B2 can automatically identify what sort of exercise you’re doing (whether running, walking, stair climbing or cycling), to give you the proper information needed. It also tracks your sleep, and has smart alarms to wake you. It doesn’t stop there though. You can also use the Talkband 2 as a bluetooth headset when needed.
