Two weeks ago we talked about all the new things Google announced at their event. A couple of days ago I had the chance to check out Google’s Pop-up shop in Soho, New York. Today it’s open to the public. You can check out all the new “Made by Google” devices and services. Get some hands on time with the Google Pixel smartphone, Daydream View VR, Google Home, and Chromecast Ultra. The pop-up shop will be open through the holidays and is located on 96 Spring Street. You won’t be able to purchase items at the store. The Google pop-up shop is open from Monday – Sunday 10 AM – 8 PM.
In the shop you get a chance to experience Google Assistant on Google Home in a cute pretend kitchen. You can also check out how the Google Chromecast Ultra streams. In another section of the store you can try out the Daydream VR for a few minutes. There are a few Google Pixel phones out so you can get the feel of the device. You can even sign up to take Pixel 101 classes to learn more about the phone. There is of course a photo opportunity using the new Google Pixel (you can check out the specs below). You can take a picture in a room with very little lighting and plastic streamers to test the Pixel camera’s low-light picture quality. I recommend checking the store out especially Google Home and Daydream VR. Seeing (read hearing) how Google assistant works and how conversational she is, is pretty cool.
