Add another smart speaker to the lineup. The Como Audio SpeakEasy speaker with built-in Google Assistant was just introduced on Kickstarter. As expected with Google Assistant, you can speak commands to your speaker. You also get the sound quality of Como Audio. Founder and CEO Tom DeVesto spoke about having the proper casing for great sound.
Como Audio SpeakEasy
If you’re familiar with Como Audio’s past products, the SpeakEasy will look familiar to you. The Hi-Fi speaker has a bit of a retro sophisticated look. Available in four different finishes, the SpeakEasy has a robust cabinet, and dials to control the playback of music. You can see it has a LED display which shows the time. The front panel control knobs allow you to control music playback and volume. The SpeakEasy connects over wifi, but you can also stream music via bluetooth. You can make the SpeakEasy portable with the optional 2,200 mah battery pack. Como Audio says they will provide software updates to add features.

A ¾” soft dome tweeter, 3” custom, dual voice coil woofer, and custom DSP equalization result in great high-fidelity sound, reproducing your favorite music as it should be heard. The rear port further enhances low bass frequencies while conveniently doubling as a carry handle. A 25 watt per channel Class D digital amplifier supplies plenty of volume, while a nearly ½” thick MDF cabinet holds everything together. Supported audio codecs: HE-AAC, LC-AAC, CELT/Opus, MP3, Vorbis, Wav, and FLAC.
Pricing and Availability
The end price for the SpeakEasy is $349. The Kickstarter campaign for this speaker launched a couple of hours ago, and it’s already going strong. For the first 48 hours the price will be at its lowest, $199. It will go up incrementally. It’s available in four finishes; Walnut, Hickory, Piano Black and Piano White.
