The Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 2 speaker is official. Shipping later this month, the WONDERBOOM 2 is a great summer companion. Similar to the original WONDERBOOM bluetooth speaker that was released in 2017, the 2nd gen version of it, offers bigger sound than the original.
The WONDERBOOM 2 has great features for a party on-the-go. It’s compact, water-resistant, and can be paired with another WONDERBOOM 2 speaker (also known as “Double up”) for more room-filling sound.
You can recognize the classic Ultimate Ears volume button placement with a multi-use button in the top of the speaker. Ultimate Ears claims the speaker can go up to 13 hours before needing a charge (via micro USB). We hope to review one soon to test out that battery life.
We had a quick hands-on with the speakers, and we liked what we heard and saw. The designs are eye-catching, and the sound is bass-heavy for a speaker that size. We even paired two speakers together to test out the True Stereo option, and it sounded pretty sweet. The Outdoor Boost mode it has can be activated by pressing on the bottom of the speaker. It can help with volume when using the speaker outdoors.
At right under $100, the WONDERBOOM 2 seems like the right size and price for a portable bluetooth speaker. The WONDERBOOM 2 will be available in five stylish colors: Radical Red, Crushed Ice (grey), Deep Space Black, Bermuda Blue, and Just Peach.
