There’s no shortage of accessories for the Apple iPad. There’s tons of stands, cases, keyboards but there aren’t many decent stylus alternatives. The Zagg Pro Stylus 2 changes that.
The Zagg Pro Stylus 2 is an Apple Pencil alternative. It’s available in five colors; yellow, pink, blue, grey, and white. It’s mostly round with a flat magnetic side, which sticks to the top of the iPad to charge. The Pro Stylus 2 also comes with its own usb-c charging dock style charger. The top of the Pro Stylus 2 has a spongy capacitive touch material that allows you to use it for screens and motions that are not stylus-sensitive. I do wish it had an indicator light to let you know how far along it is charging.

What’s great about the Pro Stylus 2 is that it’s not just for the iPad Pro models. It works with a variety of iPads (from 2018 and forward) . That includes iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad Mini, and regular iPads from the sixth to tenth gen. If you’ve use the Apple pencil before, the feel of the Stylus Pro 2 will be familiar to you.
When it comes to using the Pro Stylus 2, it gets mostly everything right. There’s no pressure sensitivity, so may not be great for those doing drawing and sketching. Charging may be a bit of a hassle depending on which iPad you have. If the Pro Stylus 2 can’t charge magnetically on the iPad model you have, you may either have to carry the charging dock or charge it on a wireless Qi charger you use for your phone and earbuds.
Verdict
I am not a serious or unserious artist by any means, so the Pro Stylus 2 was fitting for me. I love the yellow number 2 color. A person who uses their iPad for serious sketching and drawing might find the Pro Stylus 2 lacking.
