WWDC25 just finished and yes while these are not as exciting as hardware keynotes, they announce great updates if you’re in the ecosystem. Yes, there are new names to all the upcoming operating systems. They are named by year, instead of the version, so add 26 at the end of each OS. So now the names are MacOS Tahoe 26, iPadOS 26, iOS 26, visionOS 26, tvOS 26, watchOS 26. The OS has a new translucent look. The new software design is called Liquid Glass.

I have an iPhone 16 Pro, MacBook Air, AirPods Pro 2 Earbuds and iPad Pro so I’m excited about some of these updates. These are the simple things that can make my day-to-day easier
Window Stacking Apps on iPadOS 26:

On iPadOS 26 you can stack windows from different apps on top of each other allowing for better multitasking.
Camera Controls on AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 / 4 ANC

Apple is upping the content creation game with the AirPods. They are working on voice isolation quality in noisy environement. Users can also capture photos and videos by tapping the stem on the AirPods, once this update comes through.
Games App on iPhone

The Apple Arcade library has been growing. The Games app will be the hub for all things gaming. The different tabs in the Game app will have your updates, your game library, and your online/social updates.
Call Screening and Hold Assist on iPhone on iOS 26

A step up from live voicemail, with iOS 26, Call Screening gets the information for you. Call Screening finds out name and reason why they are calling. That way you can decide if you want to take the call or not. Hold Assist feature lets you know when a live agent is available.
Phone App and Live Activities on MacOS Tahoe 26

One thing about me is that I keep looking down at my phone when I am trying to lock in on my MacBook. I am hoping that having the Phone App and Live Activities come to MacOS Tahoe 26 helps keep things fluid and me having to break away less.
