We had a chance to check out the new Beats Pill+ Wireless speaker. If you remember the Beats Pill was quite popular. They had a few collabs with it also. The Beats Pill+ is a bit more squared at the ends. Check out the features (from the press release).
Introducing The New Beats Pill+ Speaker
Sound – The Beats Pill+ is slightly larger than the original Beats Pill speaker, allowing for a bigger and fuller sound. The stereo active 2-way crossover system creates an optimized sound field for dynamic range and clarity across all genres of music. Tweeter and woofer separation uses the same acoustic mechanics found in professional recording studios around the world.
Design – With its clean and sophisticated design, the Beats Pill+ speaker looks as good as it sounds. Compact and durable enough to throw in your bag, the Beats Pill+ is designed to go wherever you do. Convenient button controls are now at the top of the speaker so you can manage your music with ease.
Power management – The Beats Pill+ speaker has a 12-hour battery life to stay charged on the go. The lightning cable and power supply provide a quick full charge in just 3 hours. Keep track of your power levels with the fuel gauge so you always know how much battery is left and use the USB port to charge out.
Beats Pill+ App
Beats also announced an app to accompany the new Pill+ wireless speaker. The app allows you to pair two speakers together. You can play the speakers in stereo mode (one being the left, and the other the right side). You can also control the music with a friend in DJ mode. The app will be available for iOS and Android.
Pricing and Availability
The Beats Pill+ Speaker The new Beats Pill+ retails for $229.95 and will be available for purchase at Apple.com and authorized Beats retailers beginning next month.
I got to check out the Pill + speaker for a bit and play some tunes. The build is definitely a lot more solid. I like the shape a bit more. It’s simple but nice. It’s bigger than the original Pill speaker. So far it’s only available in black or white. There’s a good weight to the Pill+. I usually expect bass heavy sound when it comes to Beats products, but on the few tracks that I listened to, the sound was somewhat balanced. I’ll get more into sound when I’ve had more time to listen to music on it. Expect a review from us soon.
