What is Samsung Gear VR?
Virtual Reality or VR as it’s most commonly referred to is a term most people have only heard in a Sci-Fi flick. But, what it actually is technology that fully immerses you into a simulated environment. For example, it can make you feel like you are actually swimming with dolphins, playing from within your favorite video games and give you an extremely intense movie watching experience. Samsung teamed up with Oculus, a virtual reality technology company, to make VR mobile and easily available by bringing you the Samsung Gear VR. The Samsung Galaxy Gear VR is a headset used to connect via microUSB with select Samsung Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S6.
You can also use it to watch your favorite Netflix or Hulu shows and movies. It enables you to view content in 360 degrees, allowing you to look up, down and around like you are truly there.
Using the Gear VR
Being a migraine sufferer I was initially concerned about using any VR device. Admittedly it took a little getting used to and it is definitely something you should consider only using while sitting in one place. After swimming with sharks for about 30 minutes I was slightly out of sorts for a few seconds when I removed the device but surprisingly I didn’t even suffer a slight headache. This was a definite plus for me.
