Chromebooks continue to step their game up. The Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 is not your typical chromebook. It’s the first ARM based Chromebook and has Dolby Atmos.
LENOVO CHROMEBOOK PLUS 14 FEATURES
A bit on the pricier side, the the thin Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 is designed for portability. It has a 14-inch 2K OLED display, 400 nits of brightness and is pretty lightweight. It’s running a MediaTek Kompanio Ultra chip. It can support up to two 4K monitors as well. With 16GB and 256GB of storage the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 starts at $649 and goes to $749 for the touchscreen version.
CHROMEBOOK PLUS AND GEMINI AI FEATURES
With Chromebook Plus laptops, there are few new Gemini AI features. They brought the popular “circle to search” function to Chromebooks as “Select to Search” with Google Lens. It’s where you can do a Google search from a screenshot or highlighting part of the screen. AI image editing is also coming to the Chromebook gallery app exclusively on the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 for now. Text Capture helps uses optical character recognition to identify text and recommend where to place them; in your calendar or docs.
You can also simplify complicated text with a “help me read” feature. Researching something? Planning an event? Smart Grouping, groups all of your tabs and docs together by a category. These functions are comnig to all Chromebook Plus laptops. Chromebook Plus comes with one free year of the Google AI Pro plan. It includes 2TB of storage, Gemini 2.5, NotebookLM access, 1,000 monthly AI credits and more. That plan is usually $19.99 monthly.
HANDS ON WITH LENOVO CHROMEBOOK PLUS 14
Chromebook Plus features are meant to help the creative and productive need. We had a chance to go hands on with the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 at a Chromebook preview event and it was sturdy but still lightweight at just a little over 2.5 pounds. We tried the new features and we can see how you would use it on a day to day basis. It was refreshing to see the OLED screen and it was pretty receptive to touch when doing the highlighting and searching on the display.
